Kilo Summit (“the app,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a geo-fenced retail app built for the Made in Hawaiʻi Festival (Hawaii Convention Center, Honolulu — August 20–23, 2026). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Kilo Summit, you agree to the practices described here.
Location (precise). The app reads your device location only while the app is open (“When In Use”) to confirm you are physically at the Made in Hawaiʻi Festival, which is what unlocks the store. This check is performed on your device — your coordinates are compared locally to the festival venue and turned into a simple yes/no result. Your location is never transmitted off your device, never stored on our servers, and never used for tracking or advertising. The app does not access your location in the background.
Purchase and contact information. When you make a purchase, checkout is handled by Shopify. The name, email, shipping/contact details, and payment information you enter at checkout are collected and processed by Shopify under Shopify’s privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Push notification identifier. If you opt in to push notifications, our notification provider (OneSignal) assigns your device a push identifier so we can send festival updates and drop alerts. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device Settings. OneSignal’s location collection is explicitly disabled in our app.
Limited diagnostic data. Standard, non-identifying crash and performance diagnostics may be collected through Apple to keep the app stable. This data is not used to identify you.
We do not require you to create an account, and there is no login wall to browse the store.
Kilo Summit relies on a small number of service providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:
We share information with these providers only as needed to operate the app. We do not share your information with any other parties.
Order and customer information you provide at checkout is retained by Shopify according to Shopify’s policies and applicable law, so we can fulfill orders and meet legal/accounting obligations. Push identifiers are retained by OneSignal while you remain opted in. Because location is processed on-device and never stored, there is nothing to retain.
Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU/EEA), you may have additional rights to access, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. We honor these requests as required by applicable law. We do not sell personal information.
Kilo Summit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including processing location on-device and relying on Shopify’s secure, PCI-compliant checkout for payments. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date, and where appropriate, noted in the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
